About Me

My photo
zen
Just prior to moving to Fearrington Village, I developed an interest in wood carving. Membership in a carving club brought exposure to different styles and methods. From reliefs to carving in "the round". My carving began with small Gnome-like figures, fish, shore birds, and wood spirits. The first of my wood spirits were carved in Aspen stumps of trees felled by beavers. Since my arrival in North Carolina, I have been creating wood spirits in weathered cedar fence posts. Some of my works have been shown in the North Carolina Botanical Garden Sculpture Show and the Sandhills Horticultural Garden Show. My “Wood Nymph” received the Merit Award in the ’99 NCBG Sculpture Show. I have participated in the annual Chatham County Arts Council Studio Tour, which takes place in early December and received the ’99 Merit Award for “Daphne”. My home and outdoor areas at 867 Millcroft in Fearrington Village in Pittsboro NC, serve as a gallery for my works.... There is a web album that contains some photos of my work........................................................................... https://plus.google.com/photos/108004879592973156621/albums/5348381778258045873?banner=pwa
